You’re the one holding everything together.

If you weren't here tomorrow ... who would know where to begin?

I help you get your ducks in a row, before life forces your family to.

Think of me as your wing woman, for the life admin nobody talks about.

I'm based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. My workshops run in person around Herts, and many of them online too, so you can join from wherever you are.

Life has a habit of throwing us curveballs. Most of us know we should get organised ... we just never quite get round to it. (sound familiar?!)

You might recognise yourself here

  • You're the one everyone relies on. The one who usually knows where everything is ... or at least tries to.
  • You might be a single parent - or recently divorced, managing life on your own for the first time after a separation or bereavement.
  • You're running a business and wearing every hat.
  • You're the person everyone phones when something needs sorting.
  • You're supporting ageing parents while still raising children.

And because you're the one who usually knows where everything is ... imagine if you suddenly couldn't tell anyone?

The cost of not sorting this

Over half of UK adults (56%) have no Will. (Source: Money and Pensions Service, 2025)

97% of people say they're not fully prepared for death admin.

Families waste an average of 50 hours chasing financial information after a death.

£4.5 billion sitting in forgotten bank accounts (Source: Gretel estimate). £31.1 billion in 3.3 million lost pension pots (Source: Pensions Policy Institute, 2024).

Only 35% of UK adults have a Lasting Power of Attorney in place.

8 in 10 carers say the admin after a death was more stressful than the loss itself.

None of that has to be your family's story.

A little planning today can make life much easier for the people you love.

What we sort out together

Most people assume they need to book a solicitor or financial adviser before they can even begin. They don't.

I'm the step before that.

I help you understand what you actually need, get organised, and arrive at those appointments feeling informed, prepared and confident. So you're not clocking up an hourly rate just to cover the basics. And where there are free tools, government resources and trusted alternatives, I'll point you to those too.

We cover:

Wills & Lasting Powers of Attorney - Digital legacy & passwords -Pensions, finances & inheritance tax basics - Equity release myth-busting - Advance care plans & medical wishes - Protecting what you've built in your business - Funeral planning & wishes - Probate explained simply.

You don't need to be an expert in any of this. You just need someone to walk you through it first.

Hello, I'm Caro Syson

Caro Syson, founder of Your Final Matters, smiling outdoors among trees

I started Your Final Matters after helping my own mum in her 90s through later life planning and realising just how confusing it can be. Even after 35 years in business, I found myself asking questions nobody had prepared me for.

I've spent decades building businesses across property, software and healthcare. I know how this stuff works. And I know how to make it feel far less daunting.

What I've learned is that none of this can be looked at in isolation. Your Will affects your pension. Your pension affects your inheritance tax. Your digital accounts affect your estate. Your business affects everything. It all connects. Most people only discover those connections when it's too late.

That's what I do. I help you see what you're missing, understand the full picture, and take action faster than you would on your own.

I'm not your solicitor or your financial adviser - I don't replace the experts, but I help you make the most of them. I'm the person who helps you understand what you actually need before you sit down with them - so you arrive prepared, not overwhelmed, and not paying £250-300 an hour to cover the basics.

And where needed, I'll signpost you to the right next step. Every time.

It all felt so daunting before I started, thank you for helping me to get it all in one place

‘Your Final Matters' provides the framework & the support to collate all the information your loved ones will need as they work their way through the practicalities accompanying a bereavement. I can't think of a more helpful final gift than an organised folder with all the necessary information clearly recorded in one easily accessible place.

Clare Oldfield

I'm in my 40s, and while I hope I have decades ahead, none of us know our expiry date. When I divorced 8 years ago, I made my first Will, I didn't think twice about doing it, I felt it my duty & responsibility for my kids. Since then, I've considered things like Powers of Attorney & Inheritance Tax Planning. But Caro's workshop showed me how much more there is to think about.

Sim Malin

Caro's presentation of the material was very professional, comprehensive and enjoyable. The resources supplied later, I found to be of great value to use. I really enjoyed the workshop & am inspired to start putting together the somehow daunting but necessary and very important task.

Mari Nishimura

This was one of the most profound workshops I've ever attended. It wasn't just about the practicalities of death. It was about life, and living. Caro asked questions that stopped me in my tracks. So please, don't leave it for "one day." Sort your final matters now, while you're well and clear-headed. It's the most responsible, compassionate gift you can give.

Sim Malin

This workshop was a detailed, step-by-step guide to preparing your final matters so that when your time comes, you leave clarity, not chaos.

Sim Malin

Very helpful that you went through the differences between a medical power of attorney, advanced care plan & advanced decision to refuse treatment. However the real bonus was the follow-up email with the beautifully presented workbook and guides.

Sue Pinney

Caro was knowledgeable and engaging, creating a supportive learning environment that encouraged participation and reflection. One of the most impactful aspects of the course was the financial module, which gave me a nudge in the right direction to now start!

Jenny Barnes

You covered an enormous amount of ground and we have the excellent list of links to assist in all the important areas. Your Workshop was very helpful for both of us, as we now have access to masses of useful information, all at our fingertips.

Patsy & Colin Chapman

Caro is such a lovely personality to be presenting Your Final Matters workshop. Her commitment is evident. She has worked so hard on the presentation and detailed digital resources. I am so glad I attended.

Lyn Whittington

So informative, your final matters gave me the confidence to start the conversation with my parents. The Workshop made me feel both organised and confident about planning for my own final matters!

Dee Mahendra

Who would have thought a few hours talking about this subject could be such fun? Caro is an amazing, welcoming and very entertaining speaker who includes everyone in her workshop. I’m sure everyone will pick up great tips.

Gwendi Johnston

I attended Caro’s workshop on Business Blind Spots, which was an absolute game-changer. Caro is an exceptional facilitator - highly informative, engaging, and clear.

Jo Edwards, Accountant

I attended Caros' Business Blindspots workshop recently and cannot recommend it highly enough. There's so much to put in place to ensure your business can continue without you and Caro is full of useful information and tips.

Ian Hardy, Federation of Small Businesses

Caro delivered an excellent Your Final Matters workshop for Dacorum Borough Council's Economic Development Team in June 2026. I would recommend it for both business and personal final matters.

I'm absolutely thrilled. Nobody should be left in chaos when someone dies or loses capacity, and it means a lot to see that work recognised.
