Where can I attend a later-life planning workshop in Hertfordshire?
I run practical later-life planning workshops in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, with some also online. The half-day Get Your Ducks in a Row workshop covers the whole picture for £125, and 2-hour workshops at £60 go deeper on one topic, such as digital legacy or letters of wishes. I'm Caro Syson of Your Final Matters, and this guide explains what's on, who it suits and how to book.
Workshops I run in Hertfordshire
Get Your Ducks in a Row: half-day workshop (3.5 hours, £125, £75 for a family member). The one that brings it all together: wills, powers of attorney, money, digital life, funeral wishes and the conversations to have with family. You leave with a 60-page workbook and access to 50+ checklists and guides.
2-hour workshops (£60 each) on a single topic:
-
Digital Legacy
-
Letter of Wishes
-
Legacy Letter Writing
-
Funeral Planning 101
-
Business Blind Spots, for sole traders and small business owners
In-person workshops are in Hatfield and run in small groups. Some of the 2-hour workshops also run online, so you can join from home anywhere.
Who they suit
People come for all sorts of reasons:
-
adult children worried about an ageing parent,
-
couples who want to get organised together,
-
people who've been through a bereavement and don't want to leave the same mess,
-
business owners who know their business lives in their head.
You don't need to know anything beforehand. The workshops follow my practical 5-step FINAL Framework, so you leave with clear actions rather than a pile of information.
Workshops for your group or workplace
I also run private workshops and talks at your venue for community groups, workplaces and organisations across Hertfordshire and beyond. In June 2026 I ran a workshop for Dacorum Borough Council's Economic Development Team. Get in touch to talk about a session for your group.
Other places to look
Your local library, community centre, Age UK branch or hospice may run occasional talks on wills, powers of attorney or bereavement, especially around Dying Matters Awareness Week each May. Free, impartial guidance is also available from MoneyHelper and Citizens Advice.
What a workshop isn't
My workshops are education and practical organisation. They aren't legal or financial advice, and I'm not a solicitor or financial adviser. They're designed to help you understand your options and get ready, so any time you spend with a solicitor or adviser is shorter and better used.
Where are the workshops held?
In-person workshops are in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. The exact venue is on the booking page for each date. Some 2-hour workshops also run online.
Can I bring my partner or a family member?
Yes. On the half-day workshop a second family member pays £75 instead of £125.
Do you run workshops for organisations?
Yes. I run private workshops and talks for workplaces, community groups and organisations. Use the contact page to ask about dates and prices.
Please note
This guide is general education to help you get organised. It isn't legal or financial advice. For advice on your own situation, speak to a solicitor or a regulated financial adviser.
